Born and raised in California, I fell in love with Arizona in my teens, and moved to northern Arizona, where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration at Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff.

Following my graduation, I worked in the natural foods’ industry and became a patient of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and was deeply impressed with the results of treatment.

In turn, I began my formal study of TCM, acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine at the San Diego campus of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, receiving the degree Master of Science, Traditional Oriental Medicine in 2001. After becoming licensed in California and Arizona I’ve had the great honor of practicing this medicine for over two decades. In 2018 I completed my doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine with Pacific College of Health and Science. I am so grateful for the opportunity to help people with this sublime and potent medicine.

Throughout my formal schooling and in the years following, I have pursued learning the techniques and theories of Japanese-style acupuncture and moxibustion (a healing modality that has been practiced through the centuries with acupuncture) by studying under some of the greatest practitioners of our day. I could never master the one-handed needle-loading technique as practiced by some of the best practitioners of acupuncture for superficial point stimulation—so, I figured out a different way on my own, which has been described as “much more elegant”—The Sarica Technique.

In my practice, I use traditional diagnostics of pulse diagnosis, tongue observation and palpation of the abdomen, coupled with modern therapies such as low-level laser and LED light therapy, SCENAR, microcurrent, and molecular hydrogen.

Additionally, I have engaged in another life-long passion, the study of nutrition, throughout my years at university, and in the time since. It is through this continued focus that I have come to understand how crucial our dietary choices are for our health. In turn, whole food nutrition is the cornerstone from which I base my recommendations in all dietary endeavors. The culmination is the 2nd edition of my book on traditional food preparation techniques for maximum bioavailability of nutrients, The Funky Kitchen, and the coursework I created around it, “Fresh, Fun and Flavorful in the Funky Kitchen”. I am also a board member for the NANP, where we are helping to support practitioners of holistic nutrition as they help to improve the health of America.

Using such technologies as the S Drive Epigenetic Scan and the NES/Energy4Life Scan, we now have powerful tools to help guide and support diet and lifestyle choices, and I am so grateful to share this level of insight, unique to each person.

To support the internal work of healthy dietary choices, I also use and recommend all-natural body care products, and chemical-free housekeeping, in turn reducing the toxic burden in the home and workplace. For years I have shared products and ideas with patients to help them create an entire lifestyle geared toward healthy choices.

Finally, I live in northern Arizona with my great family, enjoying the beautiful outdoors as often as possible!
